Neural networks in the brain are the important basis for all behavior and knowledge processing in humans. Neural networks produce an impressive range of cognitive behavior and system performance. How is this possible and what can we learn from them for the development of learning and robust computer science systems? This lecture addresses this question and provides a comprehensive overview of different computational neural networks and their use and integration into hybrid neural symbolic knowledge-processing systems.

Hints about the language/Hinweise zur Sprache

The international context of education gets more and more important for industry, business and research. In order to help students to prepare for we offer as language either English or German. This will be discussed with the students in the first lecture.
