Abstract: Application of Stochastic Petri Net Theory to evaluate Token Bus protocols has till now not been used due to two major drawbacks of Petri Nets. They are, firstly - independent data arrivals at stations, which lead to unbounded places in Stochastic Petri Nets and secondly - effective representation of varying number of stations on the Local Area Network (LAN). In this paper two novel techniques have been suggested and applied to handle these two problems effectively. To explain the approach a two station ficitious model has been evaluated first. Then, a three station model has been evaluated and its result compared with already proven and published results using a different approach and also with results from an analytical model. The author had conducted further study in this area and extended the applicability to more number of stations - which is not included in this paper.
