Abstract: This paper discusses an example of the management for profit of a fishery resource for the purpose of demonstrating a proposed model for continuous time/discrete event systems (hybrid systems). A Petri net will subsume the discrete event (management) aspects of the hybrid system while a nonlinear first order state model will subsume the continuous time (growth and harvesting) aspects. Generic event-based interfaces are defined so as to free the model from specific applications.
