Abstract: This paper proposes a new parallel programming language PNPL (Petri net parallel programming language) based on Petri nets. In PNPL, a procedure is assigned to a place, and the condition of execution is assigned to a transition. Since PNPL uses a network expression of Petri nets, a parallel processing can be specified intuitively. Specification of some multiple structures (loop, mutual exclusion, etc.) are discussed. It is shown that PNPL is suitable for MIMD type parallel computers.
