Abstract: In this paper the flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is investigated, where the production process is accomplished in two main stages: machining and assembling. Modeling of the FMS by timed Petri net is considered in two different cases. In order to apply the appropriate order of tasks for FMS a Petri net sequencer is proposed. The simulation results for the proposed Petri net models are obtained through a modified Petri net toolbox.
