Abstract: In this paper an assembly manufacturing system is considered, where the production process is accomplished in two main stages: machining and assembling. Modeling of the system by timed Petri net is considered. The minimum time requirement for completing the machining in order to assembling the parts will be performed at the least possible time is discussed. For scheduling the manufacturing system a Petri net based controller that is supervised by a branch and bound algorithm is proposed. Also in order to speed up the running of algorithm a new method which doesn't need large memory is introduced. The simulation results of proposed approaches are given at last.
