Abstract: In this paper the hybrid control problem is considered for a mobile manipulator that works in a manufacturing system. The abstracting of the system behavior based on the concept of events is described. Recognition of the operating mode of the system as a threshold event driven hybrid system is investigated and a fuzzy classifier is used for this purpose. The events of the system are detected by a fuzzy Petri net. Then a discrete event controller is designed for controlling the system. The discrete event controller is constructed using Petri net. The proposed approach is simulated related to a mobile manipulator.
