Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine how a relatively new formalism in modeling Timed Event Graphs can be applied to the simulation and analysis of Real-Time Distributed Systems. This formalism utilizes a particular complex field mapping proposed by Bundell to represent the 2-D Time-Event State-space proposed by Cohen et al. This work also uses an extension of the characteristic equation for the Max algebra, developed by Olsder and Roos, to the Information (complex Time-Event) State-space, developed by Bundell. A distributed processing application example is given to illustrate the approach.
Keywords: Petri nets, discrete-event systems, distributed software, minimax algebras, performance evaluations, timed event graphs.
