Abstract: An automatic method for computing the expected execution time of jobs based on Petri nets is proposed. A job operation flow is modelled using the Timed Petri Net, all operation cases for every fault are considered using the reachability tree, and expected execution time is computed automatically. Furthermore, a support system that actualizes the proposed method on a workstation is described. According to the proposed and the support sytem, job operation flows can be planned without misunderstandings.

Keywords: performance evaluation; job operation flow; timed net; reachability tree.
