Abstract: Flexible manufacturing and assembly systems in which robots and autonomous guided vehicles are used, need an integrating information and control system to execute and monitor the operations of the work plan. This paper shows the advantages of a uniform method based on extended Petri nets to integrate all phases from specification of the functionality to implementation of the control system for such systems.
