Abstract: A stochastic Petri model of the FPS/264 (Floating Point System/264 supercomputer) is solved by using the RDPS package. The model includes two stages: the hardware model and the software model. From the parallelized assembly code, a lexical analysis gives the level of parallelism and the access frequencies to each of the functional units. The number of states of the stochastic Petri net is reduced by using a simple method to take care of the clock synchronizations, and an iterative aggregation-disaggregation method.
